The Last Frontier - Alaska!!! August 2011

This summer we went to Alaska. My in-laws had always wanted us to go, so my mother-in-law, Marion, planned the trip. We spent the first two nights at the McKinley Lodge and were fortunate enough on the second day to have a clear, absolutely incredible view of Mount McKinley. On the second day the boys went on a fishing expedition on the Talkeetna River and caught a whole bunch of salmon which we shipped home. The next two nights we spent in Anchorage and visited with Michael's cousins (Jim, Deana, Brianne/Nick and Autumn) and spent a wonderful day visiting the conservation center and the Portage Glacier.

The next seven days we spent on the Diamond Princess sailing from Whittier to Vancouver with stops in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan. The boys went zip lining in Skagway and had a blast. In Juneau they went fishing with grandma and caught some more incredibly large salmon. We all went fishing in Ketchican and now have more fish in the freezer than you can possibly imagine. We ended this fantastic adventure with a tour of Vancouver.
